Easy Valentine's Day Cupcakes
This is a short and easy how to make the most delicious Valentine's cupcakes. They are yellow cupcakes with tasty pink icing and red sugar sprinkles. This recipe is so easy and fun! These cupcakes are perfect for any valentines day party, whether with friends or family.
Supplies
Ingredients
- one box of Betty Crocker yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- pink food dye
- red sugar sprinkles
- cupcake tins
- 1 tub of Betty Crocker white icing
- 1 muffin or cupcake pan
Round Up All the Ingredients
Gather all ingredients listed above
Preheat the Oven
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Mix It All Up
In a large bowl mix together the cake mix, water, oil and eggs.
Put in the Tins
Place one cupcake tin in each of the holes in the pan.
Pour in the Mix
Take a 1/4 cup measuring cup and scoop up the mix. Then pour 1/4 cup of mix into each cupcake tin.
Place in the Oven
After you finished pouring the mix into each cupcake tin, make sure the oven has finished preheating. When the oven has reached 350 degrees, place the whole pan in the oven
Let Them Cook
Once the cupcakes are in the oven start a timer for 15 minutes. They should be fully cooked by then, if they are not put in for 1-2 more minutes until they are fully cooked.
Take the Cupcakes Out of the Oven
Take the cupcakes out of the oven and let them cool for ten minutes.
Dye the Icing!
Grab the pink food dye and squeeze about 3-4 drops onto the icing. Use a butter knife or a spoon to mix the dye into the icing. Mix until all of the icing is pink.
Ice Them Up!
Use a butter knife to spread some icing on a cupcake.
Finish the Icing
Repeat the previous step for all 12 of the cupcakes.
Add a Little Sugar
Pour about a third of the sugar sprinkle bottle into a small bowl. I used the Kroger brand red sugar sprinkles, but any brand will work. Take one cupcake and put the side of it in the sugar. Then turn the cupcake in a circular motion so you coat all the sides in sugar. Repeat these steps for all 12 cupcakes.
Plate Them
After you put sugar on all of the cupcakes place them all on a plate, cake stand or cutting board.
And Serve!
Take the cupcakes out to the party and serve. These cupcakes are a great beginner project for new bakers. They are perfect for any Valentine's day party. My family loves them and so will yours!
