Easy Textured Crochet Halloween Table Runner

Today am sharing the pattern for Easy Textured Crochet Halloween Table Runner. Crochet Table runners offer you the liberty to switch the style of your home from season to season. With Halloween around the corner, this would be the best time to whip of this quick and easy Halloween themed Table Runner.
You can make this runner with any yarn color of your choice to make it suitable to any occasion. The pattern is pretty easy made with Double Crochets and Shell Stitches.

Base - 8 inches - Customizable to any size
Length - Customizable to any size
Supplies
4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn
4 mm Crochet Hook

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 40 + 3 Chains for the turning chain.
You can adjust the size by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any multiple of 8 + 3 chains extra for the turning chain.
Round 2:-
5 Double Crochets in the 7th Chain from the hook.(this will make 1 Shell Stitch)
Skip 3 Stitches
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch
Skip 3.
Repeat(1Shell St(i.e.5DCs),Sk3,1DC,Sk 3)
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the turning chain.
Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
- Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
- Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
- Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
- Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
- This will make one Double Crochet.
Round 3 :-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
2 more Double Crochets in the same stitch - That would make total 3 Double Crochets.
1 Double Crochet on top of the Shell Stitch i.e. the 3rd stitch.
1 Shell Stitch (i.e 5 Double Crochets) in the next Double Crochet from the previous round.
Repeat(1 DC (on top of the Shell) , 1 Shell St into the DC from the previous round)
3 Double Crochets in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method mentioned in the previous round to make the Turning Chain.
Round 4:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Shell Stitch (i.e 5 Double Crochets) in the next Double Crochet from the previous round.
1 Double Crochet on top of the Shell Stitch i.e. the 3rd stitch.
Repeat(1 Shell St into the DC , 1 DC on top of the Shell)
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.
Round 5 :-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
2 more Double Crochets in the same stitch - That would make total 3 Double Crochets.
1 Double Crochet on top of the Shell Stitch i.e. the 3rd stitch.
1 Shell Stitch (i.e 5 Double Crochets) in the next Double Crochet from the previous round.
Repeat(1 DC (on top of the Shell) , 1 Shell St into the DC from the previous round)
3 Double Crochets in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.
Round 6 Onwards :-
Keep Repeating Round 4 and Round 5 untill the size needed and weave off.
