Easy Soap Dispenser Craft

With all the extra hand washing going on at our house my family of 5 has been burning through those little standard size hand-soap bottles. It was definitely time to upgrade to something reusable and a little heftier so I could buy in bulk and not have to refill as often.

I wanted to make something under $5 that was also fun and interesting for the kids. We ended up using a Mason Jar (retired from our food storage) to make a plus-size soap dispenser that the kids are obsessed with.

In this Instructable I will share the quick and easy steps to create a customized bathroom Soap Dispenser that fits your family's style and needs.

For this project you will need:

• Mason Jar & Lid
• Decorative glass beads
• Interest items
• Silk Flower
• Recycled Soap Pump
• X-acto Knife
• Super Glue or Gorilla Glue
• Pen
• Paper
• Bulk Hand Soap

The kids loved helping with this part! We found these glass beads at the dollar store, but you can also use marbles, stones, water beads, or anything that takes your fancy.

For interest we grabbed a pack of fancy buttons to layer on top of the stones. The sky is the limit on interest items. You could use little toy dinosaurs, a brooch, seashells, etc.

I like the look of one large silk flower but again the sky is the limit. I also like the idea of using a faux succulent.

• Push the bottom of the pump through a piece of paper and trace the lid.
• Then cut the circle out with a X-acto knife (Careful, not a step for the kids.)
• Cut the Mason jar lid to the size of the hole on your paper (it will be a bit jagged but that is okay.)

Line the bottom of the pump with super glue and set it in the lid.

Feel free to pick the color of soap that compliments your bathroom decor. An ocean theme would look great with blue soap for instance.

Enjoy filling up your dispenser less often and have fun making one for the kid's bathroom! I am thinking bright beads, succulent and dinosaur for the kids' bathroom ;)
