Easy Pulled Pork

Everyone loves a good Pulled Pork. This simple recipe can be ready in 6-7 hours cook time with very little prep needed! Perfect for a party or a busy night at home!

Gather Your Tools

Slow Cooker

Juicer

1/2 cup measuring cup

1/4 cup measuring cup

Set of measuring spoons

Gather Your Ingredients

4 lb Pork Shoulder, thawed- (I prefer the boneless, less work in the end!)

1 teaspoon Oregano

1 teaspoon Cumin

1 teaspoon Salt

1 teaspoon Chili Powder

1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper

1 Onion, chopped

3 Cloves Garlic, Minced

6 oz Can Tomato Paste

1 Tablespoon Honey

1/2 cup Orange Juice

1/2 cup Lime Juice

Rolls (I prefer a nice crusty Kaiser roll)

Accompaniments (see step 9)

In a Bowl, Combine....

Orange Juice

Lime Juice

Garlic

Honey

Tomato Paste

Stir or whisk into a smooth paste

In a Separate Bowl, Combine Your Spices

1 teaspoon each Oregano, Cumin, Salt and Chili Powder

1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper

Prepare the Pork

Rinse your pork and pat dry

Rub pork with all of your spice mixture

The Onion

Chop the Onion into chunks

Bring in the Slow Cooker

Place your spice rubbed pork into the slow cooker

Add the onion

Pour your tomato paste mixture over the pork

Put the lid on and

Set to slow cooker to Low for 6 Hours.

After 6 hours, remove lid and try to pull pork with 2 forks. If the meat does not yield easily, set slow cooker for another hour.

Pull, Pull, Pull!

Remove pork to a bowl

Using 2 forks, pull the pork apart.

Remove any large chunks of fat (and the bone if you didn't use boneless)

Spoon some leftover sauce over pork to keep moist

BBQ Black Beans

1 can Black Beans, rinsed

2/3 cup your favorite BBQ Sauce, I prefer Stubbs!

Warm in a small sauce pan

4-5 Slices of Cooked Chopped Bacon (or cheat and buy Hormel crumbled bacon in the bag)

Simple Slaw

1/4 cup Rice Vinegar

3 Tablespoons Lime Juice

1 Tablespoon Canola Oil

2 Tablespoons Sugar

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

Bag of Slaw mix, Broccoli Slaw mix, or a combination of both

3 Tablespoons Fresh Cilantro (Optional)

Whisk together 1st 5 ingredients.

Stir in slaw mix and cilantro

Chill and serve

Lets Eat!

Serve on a roll with Slaw and BBQ Black Beans on the side.

For a lower carb option, leave out the roll!

Personalize with your favorite BBQ sauce!
