Easy Pressure Cooker Leaking Seal Fix
Old seal was leaky and had a worn groove in it. I had to screw the lid clamp so hard it was almost impossible to remove once the cooking was done. The fix is to simply remove the seal , turn inside out and put it back in .
Well. on first use, perfect, second use, the seal was coming loose. So as I have some food proof silicone, I will try that to keep it there. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/255385518007 Waterproof Silicone Faucet Grease Food Grade Silicone Sealant for O-rings High and low temperature resistant, -50 ~ 230 degrees. (C or F I am not sure)
close to the specs but as it will be on the top of the lid, "For building pressure, pressure cooker temperatures will range anywhere from 211.8 to 250.1 degrees Fahrenheit," as C < F should be ok.
Supplies
Just a blunt knife or similar to remove the seal. see below.
remove the seal, turn it the other way around, so the old worn one is not facing the lid. replace the seal. finished product. Tested with no leaks now. If there are any later, I will try putting an appropriate sealant or tape under it to bring it higher or prouder.
