Easy Pizza Slippers
These pizza slippers will keep your feet warm around the house. They are easy to make and are a completely original design by me found nowhere else on the internet. They are also the perfect project if you love to sew. So lets get started!
Supplies
Fabric:
Tools:
- Sewing Machine
- Sewing Needle
- Pins
- Scissors
- Brown Thread
- White Thread
- Red Thread
Cut the Fabrics
First, you will need to draw the pieces onto the fabrics. I have included photos of the dimensions for each piece that you will need to transfer to the appropriate fabrics. Note that you will need to cut out two of the brown fleece and two of the yellow fleece as well as four of the red fleece.
Once the pieces are drawn onto the fabrics, simply cut them out! But, make sure that you leave about a 1/4" seam allowance as you cut around the pieces.
Make sure that at least one of the red circles are cut off as seen in the picture. This will make the pizza look more realistic.
Sew on the Pepperoni
Now it is time to attach the pepperoni to the cheese. To do this, stack the two pieces of yellow fleece on top of each other. Then place the pepperoni's onto the cheese and pin them down so that they will not move as you sew them. When you sew, make sure that the thread in the sewing machine is red. This will help the thread blend into the pepperoni.
The easiest way to sew on the pepperoni is to sew one line straight down the middle. Of course, it would also be acceptable to sew a circle around the edges but this would be a lot more work for a similar result.
To add extra security so that the pepperoni's won't come off, sew it multiple times.
Attach the Cheese and Bread
Now we add the final ingredient, the bread! For this step, you will need to flip over the cheese pieces so that the pepperoni side is facing down. Stack the two brown pieces on top of each other and stack the cheese pieces (pepperoni side facing down) on top of that.
Sew with white thread along the edges of all four layers with a sewing machine. Be sure not to sew the opening that your foot will go through however. Now flip the pizza inside out so that the pepperoni's are visible.
The Crust
Now, insert the batting between the two brown layers as shown in the picture. Sew one line along the middle to hold the two brown layers and one batting layer together (pinning before sewing will help with this part).
Next, roll the layers over toward the cheese once and sew the edges to hold the crust in place (I hand-sewed this part because there were too many layers for my sewing machine).
Finishing Touches
The slipper is nearly done! This step is your chance to sew together any holes that may have appeared and cut any loose threads that need to be cut. I also decided to sew the crust and cheese together for a little ways on both sides (making sure to leave a large enough opening for my foot) because the slipper was a little too loose. *You can see me pointing to this in one of the pictures*
Once you are happy, you have finished one slipper! Repeat steps 1-5 to make the other slipper.
Put on and Enjoy!
You are done! Now you have comfy, cozy slippers to wear around the house!
