This tutorial should hopefully tell you how to make an easy origami fortune teller, please give me suggestions and feedback in the comments =)

Supplies

  • Square piece of paper (Or standard printer paper if you don't have any)
  • Scissors (If you don't have square paper)
  • (Optional) Pen, pencil, marker, etc.

How to Make a Square Piece of Paper

Fold diagonally as shown, then fold vertically, until your eventual crease is right up against the end of the paper, as shown. Finally, cut on the horizontal crease you made, making a square piece of paper (It doesn't need to be perfect).

Fold Horizontally and Vertically

First, fold from left to right, then unfold. After that, fold up and down, and unfold. You should see a plus in your paper.

Fold Corners In

Now, you'll want to fold each corner in the center, using the folds you made earlier as a guide.

Flip Paper Over, and Repeat

Flip your paper over and repeat Step 3.

Open Pockets

Flip your paper over, and you should see 4 square pockets. Carefully open the pockets, and your paper should become more 3D.

Decor!

Now, you can decorate your fortune teller however you want! You could give it eyes and a mouth, like the thumbnail, or you could make an actual fortune teller, or add patterns, etc.

Enjoy!
