Easy Opal Earstuds

I love opals for the mystic shimmering colors and the depth. For years I have tried various methods to recreate opals with various materials some more expensive than the others. Finally I hit upon this simple method which I am going to share with you and i really really hope you like it coz I just fell in love with it myself.
Materials and Tools

hot glue gun
transparent glue sticks
dichroic paper (I found it as a packing paper)
black polymer clay (small piece)
wire sticks- or ear stud base.
Creating the Opals

Load the hot glue gun with the transparent stick. first practice on a normal baking paper pressing symmetrical blobs of glue. Then press out symmetrical blobs of desired size and shape( approximately same, a bit asymmetry gives it a very natural look).
Let the blobs cool and dry.
Once cooled carefully cut out the blob along with the piece of shimmer paper that is stuck to it.
Your precious stone is ready.- already!!!!!!
Setting the Gem in the Stud

Roll out 2 small balls of black polymer clay. Press it gently to flatten it. Then place the opal pieces you just created onto them and cut out any extra black clay on the sides. Pick up the whole piece and round the clay enclosing the edges of the Opal stone.
Cut Pieces of wire to about 2.5 cm sticks(2x).
stick these sticks into the polymer clay at 90° to the surface.( as shown in the picture)
Bake the whole earring as per clay manufacturers instruction, generally at 110C for around 15 mins.
The precious stone earrings are ready!!!!!!!

See how pretty and irresistible they look!!!
I hope this tutorial will come helpful and inspirational to you......
