In this instructable you'll learn how to make a cool workout device - that works on your shoulders and grip muscles - with minimal effort. This device is small and easy to take anywhere, and can even become a game or challenge. You can also take this to your office and do some exercise on your breaks. Enjoy!

Supplies

  • One stick - needs to be a bit broader then your shoulders (longer is fine)
  • One rope - as the height of your shoulders
  • One bottle of water / weight / anything you can tie to a rope

Tie Your Stick

First we need to tie our rope to the middle of the stick, for this we will use a "Clove Hitch" to make sure our rope doesn't move. If you'r stick is very smooth/slippery - it might be a good idea to make a hole in it and tie the rope that way - or adding some tape to secure the clove hitch - whatever works for you.

If you are not familiar with a clove hitch - this is an easy guide (I recommend adding a little knot in the end - like in my photo).

Tie Your Weight

Now, we will attach the other end of the rope to our weight \ object. The way you tie it really depends on the object, but if possible - you can never go wrong with a clove hitch.

Now that we assembled our home-workout device, we can start training. All you need to do is stand up with your hands forward and start twisting the stick, one hand each time, to the same direction - and by that lifting up your weight, once the weight has reached the top - take it back down (slowly), and then up again - as many times as you like.

To make things harder you can add to your weight, or repeat the process, good luck!
