This Easy Hand Sewn Bunny is waiting to be cut out and put together.

A cute, quick and easy sew you can customise him with whatever is in your sewing draw!
Suitable for Easter Bunnies, to put Essential Oils on or even just a little fine motor skills practice. You can copy my stitches or create crazy ones of your own! Just have fun.

Supplies

Easy Bunny template
Felt (2x A4 sheets)
Dress pins
Sewing yarn and needle (crochet cotton, wool or 3 strands of embroidery thread).
Scissors
Buttons or scraps of different coloured felt
Stuffing (this can be toy stuffing, wool scraps or I used the felt scraps cut into strips).

Cut Out the Bunny Template.

Print out and cut out the template. Cut around the outside line as this is your "seam" allowance. If you have suitable felt scraps you can also cut out the nose, if not you can sew one with thread (see later instructions).

Pin the Template to Both Sheets of Felt and Cut Them Out.

Carefully pin the template to both sheets of felt using dress pins. Cut around the outside being careful not to prick yourself on the pins!

Take the Pins Out and Sew on the Eyes, Nose and Tail.

Sewing on a Button

Its easiest to sew on the buttons for your eyes, nose and tail now.

I used mismatched blue buttons for the eyes, a brown button for a tail and I embroidered an X for the mouth.

But of course you can use my nose template too! Just use it to cut out a nose from a scrap of felt, then sew the nose on to the face using your favourite stitch.

Pin Your Bunny Back Together and Get Sewing!

Sewing Blanket Stitch

Having sewn on the eyes, nose and tail, now you are ready to sew the body together.

Put the two halves back to back (wrong sides together) and pin them both all the way around.

Starting at the bottom of the right hand side ear, sew over the ears and head, down the left side, round the legs and up the right hand side. Stop at the bottom of the arm leaving about a 2 inch gap for stuffing.

You can use any stitch you like, I used a blanket stitch but you can use a running stitch, back stitch or any which one that takes your fancy! You can even change coloured threads, sew ribbon onto him or get out your felt pens.

Stuff Him!

Time to stuff your bunny!

You can use any stuffing material, whether its shop bought or the scraps from this project. I cut my felt scraps into strips before using them, but I've used yarn scraps before too!

Sew him closed and your bunny is now ready for his new home. You can give him away as a gift, make multiples of him to hide for a treasure hunt or put an essential oil on him and let him sleep on your pillow!
