Easy Gloves

Need to keep your hands warm and pretty?

Here is how to make yourself or your family gloves in a couple of hours :-)

My kid loves them!!

You will need:

yarn - maybe two colors to make the difference

A crochet hook

A yarn needle

Scissors and a measuring tape

Measure the palm of the hand.

This will be the body of the glove.

Here I have app. 10 cm.

Make a chain.

In my case I needed 14 chains + 1 to turn around

The second row is with single crochet but only in the back loop.

14 single crochet (SC) + 1 to turn around.

Continue your rows with single crochet in the back loop.

After one or two rows, check if the chain fits into the palm.

Continue your rows until the piece can cover your hand - not too tight - not to loose.

Stich the project together by leaving a little hole for the thumb.

Now we will decorate the wrist and the finger area. There you can use your fantasy and add any pattern.

Because this glove will be for a boy - the pattern is rather simple.

Let's start with the wrist.

Pick up stitches.

I had 28 rows, so I will pick up 28 stitches.

In order to make it look nice, here I picked one stich high - one low.

The next two rounds are single crochet stitches but you will not pull through the "v" on the top but the vertical one. At the end your stitches will look like they have been knitted.

The next row in my pattern is a triple crochet.

This row you have to start with 3 chains.

Yarn over twice - insert into the stitch and pull up yarn, so you have 4 loops on your hook.

Now - yarn over pull through two loops, yarn over pull through two and yarn over pull through the last two loops.

To finish this pattern I added two rows of single crochet stitches.

Now we need to add a pattern to the finger area and for the thumb.

The workflow would be the same.

Pick up stitches and crochet your desired rows.

In my example my first row (after picking up) is a double crochet

• To begin the row start with two chains and yarn over only one time.
• insert into the stitch and pull up yarn so you have 3 loops on your hook
• yarn over pull through two loops
• yarn over pull through the remaining two loops

To finish this pattern I added one row of single crochet stitches.

Apply the same pattern to the thumb.

Take your wool needle and hide all yarn ends.

Voilà!!
