Ingredients:
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup of milk (1%, 2%, Whole) (240ml)
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour (120g)
- 2 Tbsp. of butter (28g)
- 1 tsp. of salt (5g)
- 1 Tbsp. of granulated sugar (optional) (12.5g)
- 1 tsp. of vanilla extra (optional) (5ml)
Tools:
- Whisk or blender or hand mixer
- 9x13" baking pan
- Large Bowl
Eggs, Milk, and Whisking
First let's preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. (204 C). Now lets take our eggs and put them in a bowl, then add our milk, and whisk them together really well. Alternatively you could do this with a hand mixer or a blender.
Flour and Salt
Now let's just add our flour and our salt. If you would like these to be extra sweet, add about 1 Tbsp of sugar and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Then whisk away until the batter is nice and runny. It will resemble a crepe batter.
Melt That Butter
Now we add our butter to a 13x9 baking dish and put it in the oven for about 1 minute until the butter is nice and melted, you may need to tilt the pan to make sure the butter coats everywhere.
***Where oven mitts when handling the pan, it will be hot!!
***You could also use an iron skillet to do this, which I believe is the classic authentic dish for baking dutch babies.
Pour, Bake, Enjoy!
Now we pour all of the batter into the hot pan, then place it in the oven and let it bake for 20 to 22 minutes. The pancake will climb up the sides and the edges will get a nice golden brown. Top them off with your favorite pancake toppings! Enjoy!
