Easy Finger Brace

In this instructable I will show you my way of holding an injured or broken finger in place while waiting for professional medical advice.

Step 1: What You Will Need:

some athletic tape,( I got mine for about 3 dollars )

a popsicle stick

and some injured fingers, (Optional if you just want to try out the brace

Step 2: Place the Popsickle Stick

Place the stick right in between your fingers that are injured and cut it to size so that it doesn't stick out too much.

Step 3: Start Taping

Hold the splint in place or get a friend to hold it while you start taping, make sure that you have the splint and you fingers in a comfortable position.

It is always good to have too pieces of tape to go around the finger in two places, you should also try to place the tape in between the joints. This is nearly impossible as the joints line up but it doesn't have to be perfect as you probably wont be doing anything too vigorous while your finger is injured.

Step 4: Finish Taping

Complete the first circle of tape and start a second one farther up your finger.

Hope it holds up!

obviously this is not an alternative to professional help or a doctor, but if you have a late appointment this could hold your finger in place till then. I would still advise to get to a doctor or hospital as soon as possible!
