Easy DIY Lava Lamp

This is an easy cheap DIY lava lamp.
Time to create 5-10 minutes
This is an easy DIY to make a lava lamp using a reaction between Alka Seltzer. the Alka Seltzer touches the water creating bubbles that need to reach the surface moving the colored water with it (I am not a Chemist so I have know idea how it actually works).
Supplies
vegetable oil, water, a bowl, a plastic bottle (with a lid), food coloring, a spoon, and Alka Seltzer.
Mixing

mix about 2-3 cups of water with about 5 drops of any color food coloring.
Pouring

Pour the oil in the plastic bottle but leave room for the water to be poured in.
Final Assembly
add water into the plastic bottle leaving a small amount of room at the top for the Alka Seltzer.
Enjoy!

Split the Alka Seltzer in half and put both in. It should start to bubble for a while. If you would like to add lights for extra effect that would be a cool idea.
