Easy DIY Frappuccino

IMG_8775.jpeg

This recipe came as a total epiphany while preparing a root beer float. Why not combine Starbucks and ice cream instead of root beer? Then I realized that I was basically describing a Frappuccino. This recipe is super easy and is just as satisfying as the real thing. It is also totally customizable, and WAY cheaper than Starbucks. It probably cost me about 3 or 4 dollars. What sets this recipe apart is that you don't need to blend ice to make it work. Of course, you could add it if you like so that the drink stays colder longer, but it is by no means necessary. I wanted to avoid adding ice because it can be hard for some blenders to blend it. I know there are millions of Starbucks copycat recipes out there, but this one is so easy that it just can't be missed.

(Sorry about the lower quality pictures. This was a late-night snack/ writing session and I should have put more effort into the pictures. Please pretend that they were taken in the beautiful location of your choice. My preferred choice would be the Mos Eisley Cantina, but please imagine whatever your heart desires. It's not like I can stop you lol)

Supplies

1 cup ice cream (I used Vanilla)

1/4 cup Starbucks Frappuccino (I used mocha)

Optional Toppings (Whipped cream, chocolate syrup, nuts, etc...)

Blend Ingredients

The first and pretty much only step of this recipe is blending the ingredients together. Because the ice cream is already made, and all the flavor is already packed into the Frappuccino drink, there is nothing to prepare. It's basically a Starbucks frappuccino milkshake. Alright enough chat, I'll get back to the Instructions.

Combine the drink and the ice cream in a blender. If one cup of ice cream and one fourth cup frap don't give you the slushy consistency that you like, just add more ice cream until it's perfect.

Pour and Enjoy

Now all you need to do is pour and enjoy. I made a mocha frap, so I just added hot fudge and whipped cream. Oh, and be sure to choose a cup worthy of such a glorious drink. I chose a prestigious boot glass so that the chocolate swirl could be viewed in all its glory. I recommend a metal container so that the drink stays cold, but you do you.

I hope you enjoyed this recipe. I know I had a blast making and drinking it. Thanks for reading all the way to the end, it's fun writing for people. If you liked this recipe, have a great day. And if you didn't like it, I still hope you have a great day!
