Easy DIY Camera Mount for Your Bow
This
is a tutorial for a quick and dirty DIY action camera mount for bow. It works fine for my Wireless 4k Action Cam henceforth referred to as my "LowPro"
You will need the following...
- A dowel that fits the inside diameter of your cameras bar clamp.
- A bolt that fits the stabilizer mounting point on your bow. Mine was a 5/16th fine threaded bolt, but yours may vary.
- Some glue.
- Assorted tools
Mark and Drill
Find the center of your dowel and drill a hole in the end of it about an 1/8 of an inch smaller than the bolt you have.
Screw the bolt into the end of the dowel using the bolt to cut threads into the hole.
Measure and Cut
Mark the dowel between 4 and 6 inches from the end, allow space for your camera and your hand.
Cut the dowel to length.
Cut Some More
Carefully cut the head from the bolt and smooth the edges.
Fit, Glue, and Screw
Remove the bolt from the dowel and turn it around so the factory end is the end that screws into the bow.
Screw it in as far as it will go.
Add the glue of your choice to the hole in the dowel and thread it onto the bolt.
Leave the whole thing long enough for the glue to dry.
Attach Your Bits
Add your camera's bar mount to the dowel then attach your camera.
Boom! You are ready to go.
