Easy Crunchy Baklava

This recipe calls for people who love sweet, crunchy, nuty, and sticky foods! Baklava is a delicious food that is healthy needing much less sugar and oil than most other deserts. It is a favorite of mine and will always be. If you decide to make this don't forget to share here on Instructables.

Ingredients

🍯Some kind of nut, 1 CUP (I used pistachios and almonds)

🍯About 1/2 cup honey

🍯Baklava Phyllo Dough

🍯1 TBSP of Brown Sugar

🍯1 TSP of Cinnamon

🍯1/2 Cup of Oil

Nuts and Spices

Crush your nuts by hand or by mixer. I used to use a mixer but it makes it too fine and that makes the Baklava lose its crunch. So that's why I recommend doing it by hand. When it is crushed add the sugar and the cinnamon and mix them well.

Phyllo Dough

Get your Phyllo Dough and spread it out. Be careful... it is very fragile and will tear easily. Spread oil on the dough and then spread honey on the dough too. This is needed so that it sticks and also so it bakes properly as for the honey it is sticky and it gives an extra sweetness.

Add the Nuts

Evenly spread the nuts on the phyllo dough. Don't put to much or it will be hard to wrap.

Carefully Wrap

Now carefully wrap the dough so it looks like the picture above. Be careful it could also tear during this step. After you finish that spread it with more oil and put it on a pan.

Bake

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees fahrenheit. Then put it on the middle rack for about 20-30 minutes. Make sure to check on it every 5-10 minutes. When you take it out of the oven spread with honey immediatly and wait to cool before serving.

Tips for Baklava

You can also make the Baklava in a square pan by greasing the bottom of it and then adding 12 layers of phyllo dough greasing each one before adding the other and adding honey between every third one. When you finish the 12 layers add the nuts in a even layer (also put oil in this layer) and then adding 7 more layers following the same step then adding more nuts before adding 5 more layers and finishing off. Both ways are YUMMY!
