Easy, Creamy Mac and Cheese
In this instructable I will show you how to make the perfect Mac and Cheese which includes the following:
- A golden crispy topping
- Loads of cheese
- And is super easy!
This recipe is also super customizable and may be altered to your liking.

Gather Your Ingredients.
Gather your ingredients:
-Fusili Bucati Lunghi (or any type of pasta)
-3 tbs butter
-1/4 cup yellow onion
-3 large garlic cloves
-1 tsp flour
-1/4 cup milk
-8 oz shredded sharp cheddar
-8 oz shredded Havarti
-1/8 tsp Yellow mustard
-1 tsp cracked black pepper
-1/4 tsp paprika
-1/8 tsp lemon juice
-1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
-Olive Oil
-Salt or Truffle Salt
-1 tbs parsley
-1 tbs grated parmesan
Begin the Prep.
Get your yellow onion and dice until you reach about ¼ cup. Chop your 3 large garlic cloves as finely as possible. Shred cheese if needed.
Cook Your Pasta.
In a large pot begin to boil water. Once boiling add in a pinch of salt and your choice of pasta. Once pasta is cooked to your preferred texture remove it from heat and save 1 cup of your pasta water. Then drain.
Make Your Creamy Cheese Sauce.
In a saucepan heat 3 tbs of butter on medium heat. Once melted add in your ¼ cup of diced onion and your finely chopped garlic cloves. Once translucent, add in 1 tsp of flour. After combined add ¼ cup of milk or enough to cover the bottom of your saucepan. Remember to continue stirring to prevent burning. Slowly add in your 8 ounces of sharp cheddar and 8 ounces of Havarti cheese.
Finish Cheese Sauce and Combine With Pasta.
After both cheeses are melted down add in 1/8 tsp or just a dollop of your choice of yellow or Dijon mustard. Add in ¼ tsp cracked black pepper, ¼ tsp paprika and 1/8 tsp lemon juice. Continue stirring or if preferred whisk! Gradually add in some of your saved pasta water until the sauce is creamy to your liking. Once the sauce is to your desired texture add in your cooked pasta and stir until every noodle is coated. Then remove from heat.
Make Your Crispy Topping.
In a clean saucepan add ½ cup of panko breadcrumbs and heat on low-medium. Drizzle your breadcrumbs with Olive Oil. Stir in 1/8 tsp of salt or truffle salt and 1/8 tsp of black pepper. Add 1 tbs of parsley and 1 tbs of grated parmesan. Stir until combined and cook until golden brown.
Finish the Mac and Cheese.
Add in your desired amount of mac and cheese into your prettiest bowl and top with your golden breadcrumbs. Enjoy and watch that cheese pull!
