Easy-Cheesy Snacks

If you feel the need for some delicious salty snacks that are quick and easy to make this is the recipe for you. It is a simple recipe and can be adjusted and changed as you please.

Time needed : 3 min preparation of the ingredients

5 minutes to prepare the dough and cut it

20 minutes to bake

The Base consists in Butter, Flour, Egg, Plain Yogurt (Sour
Cream). I used plain Greek Yogurt( but you can also use sour cream) , 80% fat Butter sliced so it is easier to mix in the dough, white wheat flour and one egg.

Tip: You can change the Wheat Flour with the same quantity of Almond Flour (if you are on a Keto diet for example)

The Cheese - I used 1cup of Mozzarella Cheese and one cup of Goat cheese. If you want you can add more or less cheese but I like it like this. It works with half the quantity of cheese but also with 1 cup more.

Tips: You cand use grated Mozzarella, Gouda, Cheddar, Emmentaler, American,Swiss, Provlone or you can use Cottage Cheese, Feta, Buratta but break them in small pieces. Use one type of cheese or mix them – sky is the limit :)

The Spice – I used dry drill, oregano, dry green garlic,
some parmesan and salt.

Tip: you can also use basil, rosemary,thyme, chives, chilli - dry or fresh. Adjust the quantity as you like and mix them according to your taste.

Supplies

Wheat Flour - 225 g

Egg - 1

Butter - 50 g

Yogurt - 50 g

Cheese - 200g

Spice and salt

Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius (320 degrees Fahrenheit) with ventilation or medium heat.

Prepare the Dough

Mix all ingredients by hand ( it takes 1-2 minutes). The dough should not stick to your hands when ready.

Roll the Dough

Roll the dough until it is about 1 cm (0.4 inch) thick

Cut Rectangular Shapes and Place Them in the Tray

Cut rectangular shape about 2 cm (0.8 inch) wide and 8 - 10 cm (3-4 inches) long.

Place the dough pieces on a tray covered with baking paper.

Optional

You can lightly beat an egg and easy spread it on the dough with a brush.

Sprinkle With Salt

Sprinkle with coarse salt.

Bake

Put the tray in the oven , in the middle rack and bake around 20 minutes . They should be golden but still soft when you press them.

Tip: Start checking the oven after 15 minutes as they burn easily.
