Easy & Cheap Baby Wooden Play Mat

Hello,

I’m a beginner in the DIY’s and Because of the little space in my house I don't have professional tools, so I try to do everything as simply as possible. My motto is “If I can do it, anyone can do it” !!!

So, here you’re in very few steps and with less than 10 euros you can create a beautiful wooden play mat for your baby.

What You Will Need:

· Drill

· Screws and flat head threaded rivet nut insert (buy them for 2euros)

· Paper (or other) tape · Sandpaper

· Flatting paint for wood and white (or the colour you prefer) paint (allready had at home)

· A broomstick, I use an old brocken one (long 60cm diameter 2cm) and four wooden sticks (long 70cm and the sides H 2cm x L 3,5cm) (buy them for 5,99 euros)

Sand All Your Wood Pieces

You have to sand the pieces of wood trying to round all the corner parts to avoid that wood splinters remain.

Next step,
make holes to the broomstick and put the flat head threaded rivet nut insert, then make the holes at the other sticks at 5 cm from the one side (we will put here the broomstick) and another hole at half height almost at 30-35 cm that will be used to pass through a string so the bases do not open too much and the structure does not collapse.

Tip: place all four wooden sticks one on top of the other and hold them together firmly with the paper tape, so you can drill them at once and the paper tape avoids creating cracks or splinters.

Paint Time!

Now you have to paint them, as first step I just flattening all the wood parts and then helping me with a tape I make a part of the square woods (legs) white.

Here You Are!!!

You’re ready!!!!

Your wooden Play Mat is completed. It is easy to assemble and disassemble and does not take up much space.

Improvements

I also made holes in the broomstick and passed some string holding it still with coloured wooden marbles and leaving a noose so as to be able to attack his favourite games.
