Easy Candy Corn Costume

This is an easy last-minute halloween costume, perfect for the person who refuses to wear anything but a T-shirt.
Dress up as a giant candy corn!
If you are lucky, maybe someone will eat you.

Materials:
You will need 3 T-shirts.
One orange
one yellow
one white
They should all be the same size to make things easier.

I use the cheap Michaels T-shirts because they frequently go on sale 2 for $5.
That makes this whole project cost $7.50.
(and you have enough leftover to make other projects)

sewing machine
thread

 This is  pretty self-explanatory just looking at the finished product.
Cut the white shirt just below the sleeves.
Cut a 9 inch* band from the bottom of the yellow and orange shirts.
Trim the hem off the orange band.

Arrange the 3 sections, from top: white
middle: orange
bottom: yellow
then just sew them together on your sewing machine, right sides together.

* note that I used size XL T-shirts, if you are a smaller size then you might use shorter bands of each color.
It's OK if the shirt is long though,  a tunic-length top makes a better costume because then your pants become less noticeable.

Wear with black pants or leggings.
Presto! You are a candy corn!

Now obviously you have 2/3 of each color shirt left over.
You could make 2 more candy corn t-shirts, BUT the colors would be in the wrong order. Real candy corn always has the white on the top. And you just know some wise guy at the Halloween party is going to point this out to whichever poor slob wears the shirt with orange at the top!
So then you tell him, you are a defective candy corn.

Another option is to make a child size candy corn shirt or dress. Then you could be matching mother-daughter candy corn. Or big sister/little sister.

OR:
Make a matching costume for your dog!

I recommend dressing up the whole family as candy corn, because no one can eat just one.
