Easy Cactus Repotting

Cacti grow out of their pots eventually, but how do you repot them, without hurting both yourself and your Cactus.

I came up with a super simple method, enjoy!

A bigger pot, succulent growing media, fishing line, a pair of scissors, a spoon and perhaps also a teaspoon.

The brilliant idea is to plae a fishing line between the spines, tie it into a loop, and lift in the loop.

Fishing line is the best choice here, it is easy to thread between the spines and it doesn't get attached or entangled.

I suggest to fit the loop near the top end of the Cactus, and to not fit it all the way round, but rather half way round. This way, you can lift the Cactus in the loop and it will hang almost vertically.

Once it is hanging, it is easy to remove the old pot.

Place the Cactus in the new pot and fill up with growing media. Be careful not to break the spines, and use the loop to adjust the plant while filling growing media around the roots, so it stays upright.

Cut the loop near the top and pull the end out. Fishing line is great, as it will easily slip out between the spines.

That's it!
If you have a heavier Cactus, I suggest using multiple loops of fishing line that is tied together it the top, with a large enough number of loops you can probably lift any Cactus, regardless of size.
