Easy Bloody Eyeball Wall Decor

Halloween is approaching! The leaves are crunching, the skeletons are lurking, eerie noises are heard in the night... But wait! You don't have any spooky decorations! Don't fret, friend. This instructables will show you how to make creepy, gorey eyes from scratch! It's designed for parents, children and creepy decor lovers alike to create, so it's created with materials you'd likely find around the house..It's easy to make, and can be done in three days! So buckle in, halloween horror cravers, and let's make some scares!

*Materials are shown at the beginning of each step.

Tools:

Materials:

• Medium THICC cardboard
• Permanent marker

We'll need a base for our foul orb. Gather cardboard with with a medium thickness. (Cereal boxes are too thin. Pizza boxes work best.) Get a bowl with a 1 foot diameter.

1. Place your cardboard on the ground
2. Place your bowl onto the cardboard (doesn't matter where as long as you have a full circle.)
3. Trace the bowl with your permanent marker
4. Cut the circle out with an Exacto knife
5. Punch a hole in the back (for hanging)

You can paint the backing if you'd like, but because it really won't be seen it's not necessary.

Materials:

• Flour
• Water
• Balloon
• Newspaper

Here's the most important part of our decor: The sickening eye! Blow your balloon until it's the size of a grapefruit and tie it. Here's a good paper mache amount:

1. Measure a 3/4 cup of flour and sift it into a large bowl.
2. Measure a cup of water and pour it in.
3. Mix thoroughly and strain the chunks out with the same sifter
4. Stir a final time. Should have a honey like consistency.

For the balloon mache:

1. Dip your hands into the mixture
2. Slather your hands over a strip
3. Gently place onto the balloon. Use extra tiny scraps, and start from the middle, making your way down the balloon.

Now pop them with a needle, trim the side with scissors and sand the edges til they're smooth. Then glue hot glue around the edges and sick it onto the cardboard backing. Trim the cardboard so it's a littler smaller than before.

• Hot glue
• Cotton Balls

When you rip an eye out of something (a typical Friday night for me) it has bloody muscles and flesh around it. To create this, we're using flour, water and glue. When it dries, it will have vulgar lumps and texture of torn flesh.

1. Start with 1/2 cup of glue and 1/2 cup of flour, occasionally adding water.
2. Pour glue and flour, and add a tablespoon of water.
3. Stir together until the consistency os mashed potatoes.
4. Glob some mixture onto tour fingers and rub it onto the cardboard eye backing and rims of eyes. until completely covered.

There are also gross dangly pieces of flesh hanging off. This is done super easily with tissue paper. If you get some goop on the tissue it gives it an even cooler effect, so don't worry about making it neat, be messy! We'll also use cotton balls for finer goriness. Stick these on haphazardly, they'll look good any way you slice it.

1. Shred tissues with your hands until you have formed long, ragged strips.
2. Using a pencil, genltly poke and prod the strands into the goop, adding more goop if nesexcary.
3. Shred cotton balls until ragged strands
4. Place or hot glue around edges, teashing it to make it look more rustc
5. Wait for the goop to dry

• Bowl
• Spray bottle

Materials:

• Clear glue
• Brown chalk or cocoa powder
• Sugar
• White paint
• Red paint
• Black paint

Let's paint this nasty puppy! (Except it's not a puppy, it's- nevermind.) We're starting with a base coat, a nice, pinkish red. Clean out a spray bottle first, or get an empty one.

1. Get a spray bottle and squirt a good amount of paint into the bottom.
2. Add a 1/2 a cup of water and shake.
3. Spray all over eye, making sure to get into crevices
4. Repeat steps 1 and 2, but add black paint
5. Spray dark red a lightly to add more depth.
6. Wait for it to dry.

Now's the fun part. We want this repellent eye to glisten, as if it's recently been removed. To do this, we're using a super near recipe I came up with myself (so don't sue Elmer's if it doesn't work.) When dry, it's still shiny and slightly tacky. If you add more sugar it adds more texture. You can use this for alien blood, special effects makeup and more. It's pretty neat.

1. Mix 2 tablespoons of sugar and one tablespoon of cocoa together
2. Add one tablespoon of clear or white glue and a squirt of red and black paint
3. Mix together with hands or a cheap toothbrush.
4. Goop some om to your paintbrush and coat random prices of flesh with it until you like the way it looks
5. Wait for it to dry.

• Paint
• Glue
• Printer paper
• Glossy spray paint

This step makes the real creep come out. First, paint the base of the eye.

1. Paint the eye white, starting from the edges.
2. Use cocoa powder and red paint to brush over the edges of the eyes so they look dirty.

Now for the iris, in my opinion the best part of this gut-churning piece. (I rushed a bit on mine, so it didn't have the amount of details I wanted.) Pick a color that stands out with your abhorrent flesh.

1. Find a free (labeled for reuse with modification. photo online
2. Print it to the desired size (preferably half the size of the original eye.
3. Cut the eye out
4. Rip the eye carefully into 8 pieces, but DO NOT TEAR THE PUPIL!
5. Glue the area underneath it
6. Gently place eye on top
7. Glue one ripped piece down, and find the one next to it that you ripped. Line them up and press them into the glue. Repeat for all parts.
8. When glue is still wet gently use cocoa powder to dirty the area around the iris.

Remember those squiggly red things on your eyes? Yeah those? Those are blood vessels. Did ya know that? Good. We're creating those with bits of yarn. These will look really realistic when done correctly.

1. Cut a small piece of red yarn
2. Pull the strands apart gently until you have very small, fragile strands
3. Glue the area you want the veins to go, and gently place the yarn on.
4. Wait for the glue to dry.

We're so close! Eyeballs are glossy, so we need to make ours glossy. Use any kind of glossy spray paint and coat it a few times until you like the sheen. Wait for it to dry.

And you're done! Be proud of your repulsive (few! I almost ran out of gross adjectives!) work! This is such an easy project, don't just make a human eyeball, make an alien eyeball!
