This is one of my favourite desserts. It's simple, classic, crispy and applely. This is my recipe for Easy Apple Crisp Made From Scratch. Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon
  • 8 apples ( I generally use granny smith)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar (if you use a sweeter apple cut this out or at least drop it to 1 tbsp)
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened

Slice in half and squeeze your lemon into a medium mixing bowl.

Peel Your Apples

Next peel and slice all your apples and place in the bowl with the lemon juice. coat well. this will prevent the apples from becoming brown.

Season Apples

Sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar over the apples and stir, coating the apples well.

Bake Those Apples

Lay the apples in a greased baking dish and bake in a oven set to 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.

Make the Crumble

While you are waiting for the apples to cook grab a medium mixing bowl, add your flour, brown sugar and rolled oats. Mix that all together with a spoon or you hand.

Mix in Butter

Add the butter and mix in until course crumbs are formed.

Remove the half cooked apples from the oven and sprinkle the crumble mixture all over the top then return it to the oven for another 20 minuets or until the crumble browns on top.

Serve It Warm

Serve it up with some ice cream while it's still warm. Apple Crisp is best that way.
