Easy Amazing Peach Cobbler Ingredients:
1 cup of All Purpose Flour - 228 grams
2 cups of Sugar - 456 grams
1/2 cup of unsalted butter - 114 grams
1 cup of milk - 237 ml
1/2 tsp salt - 2.3 grams
3 tsp of baking powder - 14 grams
5 to 6 medium peaches - approx - 914 grams
1 lemon (for juice, 1 tbsp - 15ml, zest)
a few pinches of cinnamon
a few pinches of nutmeg
***Makes about 8 servings (or if you love it like I do, about 4 servings, haha :) )
Add Dry Ingredients
First let's preheat our oven to 375 degree F. Now let's take a bowl and add our dry ingredients (Flour, salt, baking powder, and 1 cup of the 2 cups of sugar). Then go ahead and mix that together.
Melt Butter
Now we need to melt our butter. I melt it in the microwave for 30 seconds or so. Then pour the butter into a dish. I use a 8inch by 11inch glass casserole dish, but you can use a metal one as well. If you want it fatter use a smaller pan, if you want it thinner use a bigger pan. I really like the 8x11 size the best.
Mix in the Milk
Now we take our milk and pour it into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix that together well until it forms a nice batter. Then pour that into the middle of your dish that has the butter in it. Don't mix the batter with the butter. Leave it alone. :)
Cook Down the Peaches
Next we take a pot and add our peaches to it. I first set the stove to medium heat. Then add the other 1 cup of sugar. Stir constantly. Then we add the zest from one lemon. I have a handy zester tool that I use. The zest adds flavor. Then give it a good stir.
Add Lemon Juice and Stir
Now we add our lemon juice. I just cut that lemon in half and use about all of the juice, about 1 tablespoon. It will give the cobbler a slight lemon flavor which I love. You can add a little less if you like as well. Turn the stove up to medium high, and stir until it starts to boil.
Pour Peaches Onto Batter
Now we pour our peaches onto the middle of our batter. Gently spread them around with a wooden spoon, no mixing or stirring at this point.
Add Cinnamon and Nutmeg (optional)
Next we have our optional step, we dust the top with some cinnamon and nutmeg. In my book it really isn't optional, gotta love me some cinnamon and nutmeg...mmm
Bake
Now bake it in your preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes until the top is nice and golden brown.
Cost
As you can see in the picture it is pretty cheap to make cobbler, and it is sooo yummy. I hope you enjoyed this instructable, now go out there and make some of your own!
