Easter Bunny Trap Instructable
Our project was based off of a cell that would trap the victim inside after the pressure plate is activated.
The incline plane door is activated when a lever(pressure plate is stepped on) After the pressure lever is activated the door slams shut because of the rubber bands and stays closed because of the latch(wedge).
Supplies
Kinetics
Construction paper
Rubber bands
Shoe box
Cardboard
Pencil
popsicle sticks
Clothespins
Tape
Hot glue
Duct tape
Beginning
The first thing you have to do is get a cardboard box and cut a door out of one short side.
After creating the incline plane, you have to cut one hole on the door and one on the backside of the box. After connecting 4 rubber bands you put them through the front hole under the box to the back and connect it to a clothespin.
Inside
After gluing and taping the clothespin down, create a pressure plate that pull release the clothespin when stepped on.
After that create the way in which the door will clothes by taping a popsicle stick to the inside of the box and another stick on the door and connecting a rubber band between them. This will create the necessary force and velocity to shut the door when the pressure plate is stepped on.
Latch
Then to create the latch which will keep the door shut you have to tape a pencil to the door and create a latch using a piece of cardboard and some Kinects and a rubber band.
When the door shuts the latch will keep it shut.
Bottom
We had to add legs to the box because the door had to be set at a certain angle so it did not shut before the plate is activated.
So use cardboard and cut different pieces out to attach to the bottom.
Final
The final inside should look something like this, so you just test it and make sure it works. If needed you can add or take away rubber bands to add or take away velocity.
