Easter Bunny Trap
In this Instructable, you will take a step by step journey into creating your very own Easter Bunny Rabbit Trap. You will also learn how using simple machines can assist in distributing the work load of a task.
Supplies
- Cardboard
- String
- Duct tape
- Hot glue
- Construction paper
- Connects
- Scissors
- Markers
- Pulley wheel
- Popsicle sticks
Ramp Construction
Using a cardboard box, construct an incline plane or ramp in order for the bunny to enter the trap. This will be the first simple machine introduced in your trap.
Base Construction
You will need to take a large cardboard box, and keep everything intact with the exception of one side wall. Using the cut piece of cardboard, cut bars across the edge, and reinforce with popsicle sticks. You will also need to insert a small hole near the top of the piece in order to connect to your pulley device.
Pulley System
Using connectors, string, and pulley wheels, construct a pulley connecting from the trap door side exit hole, and the pressure plate located on the top of the trap. This will be the second simple machine present in your trap!
Pressure Plate
Cut a square hole in the top section of your box. (The cut piece will be used) Next, attach your string from your pulley to the center of the previously cut square. In addition, you will need to add two catch plates on either side of your square to prevent the piece from fully exiting the hole.
Pressure Plate Cont.
Underneath the hole you cut in the top of the box, you will need to insert 4 guide bars extending the full height of the box. This will ensure that when faced with a weight, the piece of board will slide to the bottom of the box smoothly.
Lever
Using cardboard and duct tape, construct a seesaw type device that will assist in guiding the bunny into the designated trap area. This will act as your third and final simple machine.
