Easiest Way to Take Nail Polish Off

I like to try out different colors and designs in my nails but I HATE to take it off and end up with my hands dry and stained. After I discovered this trick it was never the same again. It's so easy and works wonderfully! Works great with many layers of nail polish and even with glitter.

This time I had 5 layers on: two blue, one white line, blue dots and transparent nail polish.

What You'll Need

  1. Cotton pads
  2. Scissors
  3. Acetone

Cut

I used square cotton pads but can be any shape. Cut it in small pieces to fit the size of your nails, mine were 2x2 centimeters approximately.

Pull each layer apart to get very thin layers. I got 3 from each little square but it may vary depending on the thickness of the cotton pad.

Acetone

Put some acetone in the lid or in a little can.

Dip just the tip of one of the squares (it will immediately absorb acetone all the way up)

Place

Place the soaked square in one of the nails and press a little.

Repeat with all the nails and wait 30 seconds. If it's glitter nail polish wait 1 minute.

Remove

Remove the cotton by pressing it with your thumb and moving it up. Watch the magic!

Hydrate

Acetone tends to be very dehydrating so it's always good to finish with some oil in your nails and lotion in your hands. You can use olive, almond or coconut oil.

Now you're ready for your next design. I always like to let my nails rest for some days before applying more nail polish on.
