After seeing the awesome project of Hypfer over at Github I thought that it would be nice to combine it with a camera and use the awesome ESPHome project to get all needed values into HomeAssistant.

Start by opening up the case of the vindriktning sensor with a screwdriver and disconnect the sockets for the fan and PM1006 Sensor.

Print Case for esp32cam and use a bit of hotglue to lock the camera in place.

Use a bit of glue to attach the Camera case to the main sensor case after marking and drilling the hole for the cables.

Plug wires +, GND and Sensor Signal to the Camera pins and solder the other ends to the corresponding pads on the Sensor board.

Use the 5V, GND and GPIO3 (U0RXD) Pins on the Camera and check the Photo for correct soldering.

Uploading Software

Before assembling and putting everything in place you should upload ESPhome to the esp32cam.

There is a perfect tutorial for HomeAssistant here

In order to get the measurements of the Sensor and the camera feed you have to use the attached yaml file for ESPhome after changing your settings for Wifi and name.
