Hello Friends,

Art Jewellery is a creative expression and the manifestation of an artist’s inner state. Recently I attempted to create an Elegant Silver base Resin- Enamelled Shell Pendant. To me it’s a great accomplishment. We artists enjoy the process far more than the product. So hearby I share with you how I made this graceful Minakari Pendant.

Supplies

Ingredients required :

Passion for Jewellery Designing, creative imagination, a suitable jewellery designing software, jewellery making/ polishing tools and equipments, a shell and a crystal bead necklace.

My rough plan for making a pendant was:

1. Sketch a design

2. CAD

3. 3D Print

4. Casting in silver

5. Finishing a product

6. Final product

Lets get started…

Sketch

Firstly, I sketched the intended design on a piece of paper.

3d Design

Based on the sketched design, I prepared a 3D model by using

RhinoCeros software. The software helped me in creating the prototype model which can be rendered as a 3D model of my sketched 2D design.

3d Print

Once created the 3D (CAD) pendant design, the work was then sent

in the form of digital file to 3D printing service centre. They transformed a file into resin mould. Thereafter, the same mould was casted in sterling silver.

Casting of Silver

The silver cast was polished to remove uneven surface and was given a finished look. The silver pendant was then plated with a thin layer of gold for gold platting which enhances durability as it provides excellent resistance against normal wear and tear.

Shell

Simultaneously, I carved the shell into an ovalur shape and

affix it in the middle of the pendent.

Finished Product

Now comes the last and a colorful step. I filled gold platted

flower and leaves design with colorful resin enamels and let it dry. Attach the pendant into the crystal beads necklace and bail it in the neck of a beautiful lady…

Afterall that’s its final destination!!!
