EASY DIY 2-PIECE SUMMER OUTFIT/THRIFT FLIP
This DIY 2-piece summer outfit is every broke girl's answered prayers. Prepare to look cool on campus without bruising your bank account :)
Supplies
- Needle and Thread
- Thrifted/new Maxi Skirt
- Ruler and Marker pen
- Pair of Scissors
- Elastic Band
The Big Cut :o
Grab crop top of choice and measure the length. Transfer measurement onto the maxi skirt using marker pen then cut horizontally along the marked lines.
Making the Top :)
Measure the width of the crop top. From the top piece of the already cut skirt, center the tape measure and mark the width. Position the ruler diagonally to create consistent line from the top to the markings. Cut then sow along the cut area.
Adding the Straps :)
To add straps, measure discarded fabric to be about four inches wide and 14 inches long then cut into two to create 2-two inch straps. Sow along the edges before pinning the straps on both sides of the top in two areas.
Outline for the Shorts
Position the outline of the remaining fabric horizontally. Grab a pair of short you like the fit of then fold into two. The side of the shorts should align with the length of the fabric then mark the outline. Do this on both sides of the fabric and cut the marked outline. Cut the two pieces into two to end up with four uniform pieces.
Assembling the Shorts '-'
From the four pieces grab two and attach them by sowing along the curved area but not the crotch area. Do this for the remaining two. Open up the attached pieces and place them together then sow along the sides, crotch area and the bottom. Do not sow along the waist.
Adding the Elastic Band
Measure how much elastic the waist needs. Position the elastic around the waist leaving enough fabric to cover the waist completely then sow. Don't sow the elastic to ensure it moves freely.

And there you have it, your amazing DIY two-piece outfit :)
