EASY CROCHET WHALE PATTERN

IMG_0749.JPG

Today, you will learn how to crochet this super easy whale! Not only is this pattern super easy to follow, but it's beginner-friendly and super fun to make. Also, this whale is crocheted in the rounds, so we will be using a stitch marker to keep track of our stitches. Make sure to make a comment and vote if you like this pattern! So, without further ado, let's jump into crocheting this little whale!

Supplies

-Crochet hook (I used a 4.5mm hook)

-Yarn (I don't have the label on my yarn, so I can't really say what kind it is.)

- Scissors

- Safety eyes

-Tapestry needle

- Stitch marker

- Fiber fill

As I mentioned before, we will be working in the rounds, so make sure to place your stitch marker. Also, this whale is made using single crochets.

Starting with your first color:

R1: sc 6 in a magic ring (6) Pull ring tight.

R2: 2 sc in each st.

R3: (sc, inc) around.

R4: (sc 2, inc) around.

R5-R8: sc in each st around.

Make a slip st to end the blue yarn rounds(see pictures).

Now change to white (see picture):

Insert safety eyes between rounds 6 and 7 (see picture).

R9: Working in the back loops only (BLO), sc around.

R10: (sc 3, dec) around.

Start stuffing.

R11: (sc 2, dec) around.

R12: (sc 1, dec) around.

R13: (dec) around.

Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Here's a trick: If you are crocheting one of the rounds like R3, or R4, you start with a single crochet, and should end with 2 single crochets in one st. But if you started with 2 sc in one st for example, then you would end the round with a single crochet. This is to know if you haven't forgotten a stitch. Of course you can just count your stitches, but this is just an easier way to figure that out.

Sew on all parts of the body and you're finished!
