Using your hair brush be sure to brush all the tangles and knots out of the hair.

Start from the bottom of the hair when brushing. This will help get the knots out more efficiently.

You can use detangling spray to help get the knots out.

Using your styling comb or ratail comb section the hair down the middle of the head.

Clip the hair on the left or the right side of the head.

Grab a section of hair in the front of the head. Run your fingers through the hair creating three strands of hair.

If you need to, practice holding the three stands of hair in both hands. Make sure when you are holding the hair, you're holding the three strands close to the head. This will help the braid to be tighter and stay in longer.

Then once you are comfortable holding the three strands proceed to braid.

Take the strand closes to the center part of the head (red strand), move that strand under the middle strand (blue strand). Then take the strand on the other side (purple strand) and move that strand under the middle strand (red strand). Then add hair to each strand and continue all the way down.
