Dust Salsa

Dust salsa is a nice side for chips if you like some heat to what you eat. If you're like me and get tired of regular salsa or just like spicy stuff in general, this is perfect for you. This recipe is flexible because Dust can go with just about any salsa recipe, It just gives it a lot of kick.

Ingredients

First for a basic salsa recipe you'll need,

  • 3 ripe tomatoes, cored and quartered
  • 1 red onion, peeled and quartered
  • 3 jalapenos, stemmed and seeded (you can substitute 1-2 habanero or serrano peppers.)
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3 Avocados
  • 2 cups of corn
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Salsa Process

Start with tomatoes, black beans, red onion, corn, avocado, cilantro, olive oil and lime. Chop them up into a fine grade. Then add jalapenos, or habanero peppers, Mix up all of your ingredients and your salsa is done!

Dust Ingredients

Once you have your salsa made, you are going to add the “dust” to it. Keep in mind when making Dust, it is extremely hot and to keep it away from your face and out of reach of pets and children. Dust contains:

  • Ghost pepper
  • Habanero pepper
  • Jalapeno peppers
  • Trinidad scorpion peppers
  • All of these are dehydrated and ground up into small flakes

Final Touches

Once you have your Dust and salsa made, You are going to add them together. Sprinkle the desired amount of dust on your salsa, if you like hot things add a decent amount, if you only want a little heat, add a small pinch. And you are ready to eat!
