Duct Tape Tie Revisited

This project is meant to kill two birds with one stone. When I published the first version of this project https://www.instructables.com/id/EEIY6P7F2ZML3BR/ there were many who objected to my using a cardboard core. So here is a version without cardboard. And I'll have you know that the only time I've found working with duct tape more difficult is when I had to use it while wearing rubber gloves.

The second bird is this will serve as my entry into the office supplies contest.

Materials and Tools

Materials:

*Duct Tape
*Tie (Template)

Tools

*Scissors
*Pen

Prepare Tape

Pull out a length of tape to your desired length. Lay it unsticky side down. Pull off another strip of tape about the same length. Lay the edge of the unsticky side of this piece on the sticky side of the first piece of tape so they overlap about 1/4". Repeat this process until you have a massive piece of tape about twice the width of your tie. (Unfortunately for me I ran out of tape before I could get it to exactly twice as wide.)

Once you have done this fold it over and stick the adheasice parts of the tape toeach other leaving the unsticky side facing out. (Unfortunatley I forgot to take a picture of this)

Trace Your Tie and Trim

Place your tie on your tape and trace it. Cut out your tie. Since I wasn't able to get as wide a piece of tape as I would like I kind of had to eyeball it.

Add a piece of tape to the top of the tie. Fold this over the top of your shirt to attach the tie.
