Duct Tape Storage Boxes

You've just run out of places to put your belongings--all of your storage boxes are used up. What do you do? The answer is duct tape! In less than fifteen minutes, you will have the perfect storage solution customized to your style! Gather your materials and embark on your journey to become organized!

Materials:

• Sturdy cardboard box
• Multiple colors of duct tape
• Felt or fabric for lining the box
• Scissors
• X-acto knife
• Cutting mat

To get rid of the flaps on your cardboard box, turn it on its side and cut off each flap one at a time using your X-acto knife. Simple enough, right? Save the flaps for future projects.

Cut some fabric for the inside lining of your storage box. I used white felt. You don't have to make a lining, but I find it makes it higher quality. Push the fabric into the box, pressing it down in each corner. Once you have it fitted correctly to the box, duct tape the extra fabric on the top to the sides.

Now it's time to customize your box to your style! Pick out complementing colors of duct tape, and cover the whole box with tape.

To construct a handle for your storage box, rip a piece of duct tape, and fold it lengthwise. Fold the parts that will be stuck down and crease them. Tape one side of the handle to the box. Open up the other folded side. Stick a piece of tape on the top of it, sticky side facing down. Fold it again along its crease, and stick it to the box.

Load your duct tape storage box up with loose things or specified items, and set it on a shelf. You can mix up the colors of duct tape you use to have a mix-matched set of unique boxes. Good job, now you have your own storage box collection!
