Drunk Chocolate Pear

Hi everybody,

I called this dessert 'Drunk Pear', as you need to boil pears in red wine for 20 minutes - I would be pretty drunk if I had to swim in red wine for 2o minutes :-) It's pretty easy to prepare, it's tasty and looks fun ( photos don't really justify it) - better try making it yourself ;-)

Ingredients:

4 Pears (makes four desserts)

Bottle of wine

Cinnamon

Vanilla extract

Sugar

(slice of orange is optional)

50g Creme Fraiche

Almonds or any other nuts you like

Dark cooking chocolate

Mint and Ice cream could be used as a decoration

Peel the pears, cut out the bottom of it nicely and dig out all the peeps with a small spoon.

Prepare Wine Mix

Poor all the wine in a saucepan, bring to the boil. Reduce fire and start mixing 5-6 tablespoons of sugar, 2-3 drops of vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and slice of orange (optional). Start stirring till all of it dissolves and then put the pears and the bottoms of the pears in it - simmer for 20 minutes. Bring the pears out after 20 minutes and cool them down.

Mix Creme fraiche with crushed nuts, drop of vanilla and 1 tablespoon of sugar together. Put the mixture into already cooled down pears and cover the bottoms. (shown above)

Final Bit

Melt the dark chocolate and bathe your drunk pears in it. Put the pears in a fridge ( after it cools down a bit of course) for two hours.

Take them out after 2 hours and serve them with ice cream and fresh mint.

Bon appetit!
