Measure Your Phone

Take your phone out of its existing case and measure the sides. Open tinkered and make a box the exact size of your phone + 5mm.

Encase Your Phone

Make a 6mm bigger box around your phone model. Turn your phone model into a hole. make a box 6mm smaller than your phone model and place it in the middle of the creation bring it up 5mm. Group the whole creation.

Make the Springs

Make 5mm thick beams the same height and length of the phone. copy and past them for each side. take one of each and rotate it 10 degrees to either side from looking down attach the other copy parallel with the body of the case. Repeat for all sides even the bottom.

Make Slits

Take a triangle, flip it upside down and make it 2m thick. place it directly in the middle high enough that it is resting just above the floor of the case. make I long enough so that it will fully pass the sides but not long enough that it touches the springs. Turn it into a hole and group the whole thing. Add holes where the buttons on your phone are if you would like. Otherwise you will have to take your phone out of the case to turn up the volume or turn the phone off, so it is recommended.

Add Hook

Take a cube. make it 5-10mm thick. make it half the height of the bottom springs. Bring it up so it is touching the case. Position it so it is in the middle of the case. Take another cube and make it so it has 5mm clearance on each side but make it go all the way through for thickness. Turn this piece into a hole and group the whole thing.

Create Stand (optional)

Take a cube. Make it the desired length of your stand. (this will effect the angle of the phone standing up) Take another cube and make it as thick as you want your stand. Copy and paste this cube. Take one of the cubes we just made and turn it 45 degrees towards the bottom of the case. move it so it is in the middle of the case and awards the top. Move it so that it all the way penetrates the surface group it to the case. Take the first cube we made in this step and make it as tall as the second cube we made in this step. move them together so they are touching and center them to each other. Group them as this will be your stand. After printing the case to attach the stand put it into the hole we made in this step.

Scratch Padding

After printing by exporting to Cura, slicing the stl file into gcode, and sending to your printer to print we are ready to scratch proof the case. Take any soft fabric and cut it so that it is as tall thick as the space between the floor of the case and the overhang. Glue a strip of it under the overhang and between the over hang and the floor. make cuts in the fabric where the slits are and where the button hols are. Now you are ready to put your phone in.

Test Your Creation

As shown above is how it turned out for me. In my opinion the best and easiest way to test your creation is the same way you test if your pizza dough is ready to be cooked. You baseball pitch it at a wall.

Note: In the video I used a smaller version to save filament if it brakes.(Spoilers?)
