Dripped Sand Castle
As a kid, while going to the beach, I was always trying to entertain myself.
So, except of swimming in the water and playing Ting-Dong (the beach version of rackets :D ),
I also liked to build sand castles.
This special abstract sand castle doesn't require precision or special tools, but creativity and patience.
Here, I will show you how to make one!
(note: due to current improximity to the beach, all pictures were made in my house with the best sand I could find)
Tools + Ingredients
Tools:
- Bucket
Ingredients:
- Sand (better be soft sand, like in the beach)
- Water
amount of Sand and water may vary as you wish - depends on the size of the castle you would like to build.
(If you are not in the beach and you don't have an endless amout of sand and water, than the amounts of sand and water should be equal)
Preparing the Wet Sand
Before we start building our dreamy dripped castle, we need to prepare the wet sand:
- Fill half of the bucket with sand
- Pour water until sand level is about 4 cm lower than water level
(make sure you measure it after the sand had time to sink)
Building the Castle
So now, after everything is ready, we can start building:
- Choose your perfect location for the castle - beware of being too close to the waves that come from the sea, as they might ruin it.
- take a handful of wet sand.
- Start dripping it to create the castle until the sand in the hand feels too dry and doesn't drip anymore.
- spill the leftovers in your hand back to the bucket
- return to bullet 2.
keep doing it until your castle is ready.
Enjoying the Outcome
That is it!
Just sit back and enjoy it :)
