Drill Dock
Hello, I am currently pursuing my Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at University Visveswaraya College Of Engineering, and when I was doing my internship at Awlam Innovations, the first task I was assigned was the following:
- Problem: Traditional drill holders can be bulky and inconvenient to store. They also require users to find an outlet to plug in their drills, which can be difficult in some workspaces.
- Unique Features: Your drill holder is designed to be compact and lightweight, making it easy to store and transport. It also has a built-in charger, so users can keep their drills charged without having to find an outlet.
- Benefits: The Drill Dock is a compact, lightweight drill holder with a built-in charger. It is perfect for anyone who wants to keep their drill organized and charged. The Drill Dock is also easy to use and can be assembled in minutes. To add on the Drill Dock comes with a slot that perfectly fit the Drill bits

Design the ScrewDriver Holder in a 3D Modeling Software.
To start, you will need to decide on the overall shape and size of your Screw Driver holder. In my case, i used Black and Decker electric Screw Driver KC4815 You will also need to decide where you want to place the charger. Once you have a general idea of what you want your screwdriver holder to look like, you can start to add more details. For example, you may want to add a storage compartment for screwdriver bits and other accessories. You may also want to add a design element, such as a logo or a pattern.
Screw dock has the charger pin from below, the reason for this design to bring ease to the user for having the screw driver and a place and making sure it doesn't go out of juice.
Screw Dock is designed in Fusion360 with required dimensions of the drill. It is made sure that a tolerance of 5mm is given for ease of handling
Slice the Design Into Layers and Printing
The Designed file is Exported into the StereoLithoGraphy file and Sliced using Ultimate Cura
Prints better with 0.2mm layer height, 5 mm wall thickness, and 20% infill.
Once the drill holder has finished printing, you will need to assemble it. This may involve screwing or gluing the different parts together. If you are using screws, make sure to use the correct size screws for the holes in your drill holder. If you are using glue, make sure to use glue that is compatible with the materials you are using. Super Glue should do the job

Installing the Charger
This may involve connecting the charger to the drill holder and plugging it into an outlet. Make sure that the charger is properly seated in the drill holder and that it is not loose.
In the design, the charging port for the electric screwdriver is perfectly aligned. In the 3D printed part the jack male connector is glued in such a way that it extrudes out of the charging hole in the design. The male jack connector is connected to a female jack connector.
Test the Drill Holder.
Once the charger is installed, you will need to test the drill holder. This will ensure that the drill holder works properly and can safely hold your drill. To do this, you can simply place your drill in the drill holder and turn it on. Make sure that the drill is held securely in place and that it does not wobble.
