Dreidel Dreidel Drunk

A drinking game for Hanukkah (if you are looking for a game to play with a Dreidel) for N players, to start each player has a shot of alcohol (beer wine whatever). Players take a turns spinning the Dreidel, here are the rules based upon the spin.

The following is obvious, but will become clear why it is stated this way later.

A Dreidel is a "top", spin the top apply the rules based upon the picture on the face when it no longer spins on its' point and no longer changing the image on the face.

I could have made this one step but the images messed me up if I can figure it out I will fix it.

Nun - Nun for You This Turn.

nun.jpg

Nun – player gets a pass, he does not drink.

Shin - It's a Shin to Drink Alone.

shin.jpg

Shin – player drinks alone.

Hay Buddy We Both Drink

hay.jpg

Hay – player and the player on his right both drink.

Gimmel "Oy Vey!"

gimmel.jpg

Gimmel – everyone must slap themselves on the forehead and yell “Oy vey!” the last player to slap his head has to drink 2 drinks. This gets a little tough for people not of the tribe being able to discern Gimmel from Nun upside down or right-side up after a few drinks. Note the slight difference

Some added fun

Faking a Gimmel – on any players spin you can fake a Gimmel by bringing your hand close to your forehead, but cannot touch your head or call out “Oy vey!”. Any players who touches their forehead or says “Oy vey!” has to drink.

Supplemental rules:
If you cannot spin the Dreidel after 3 tries you are out of the game. If you spin it off the table you drink, so that drunken people don’t have to crawl around on the floor looking for a Dreidel.
