Drawstring Earphones

this is a really simple cool thing to do with any hoodie, so you can listen to your music anywhere without your earphones getting tangled up in you pocket. And better still it's entirely washable! :)

The way this works is really simple!

For this instructable you will need:

1. A hoodie.

2. Earphones, (make sure they're long enough to stretch from your pouch to the hood).

3. The cord from your hoodie.

4. some needle and thread.

Removing the Disks

For this to work and to be washable you need to remove the two metal rings that are around the hoodie cord holes, so that the earphones can be taken out of the hoodie.

this is really fiddly to do, but with some small pliers I managed. You might want to clean up around the holes a bit.

Cutting the Holes

First, turn your jumper inside out. then cut a hole through the jumper to the pouch. (like in picture 2)

than find the lowest point of the drawstring tubes and use a stanely knife to make a slit, big enough to fit the earphones through.(if you look at picture one then you can see where to cut)

This is where I made my mistake, if you look at the first picture you can see how I cut it, not very neatly and very obvious as I also cut it on the outside by mistake, if your doing it I would advise you to cut slits with a stanley knife so the holes are not very obvious. I ended up stitching the outside of my holes so that they would look normal.

you can see in the last picture how it should look once it's fed though all the holes

Sewing the Drawstring Around the Earphones.

I took some grey thread then i uses the overhand stich down the drawstring. It didn't go completely around the ear phone but it did keep it in place, When it's done it should look something like that in the last picture.

Putting It All Together.

once you've put it all together and threaded everything you should have something like this!

If you're making you own you might consider sewing a small pouch to keep your phone/mp3 player secure in your pocket, and maybe if you hoodie is double layered (mine wasn't) putting the earphones through there.

hope you liked my instructable! :)
