Drawing a Ten Sided Dice or Decaeder in Google SketchUp

I want to make a wooden dice with 10 sides for a party game. Because I never done it before, I will start to draw the shape in SketchUp, I think it will help me a lot in the woodworking.

Drawing a Polygon

First I will use the Polygon from the Shape tools and I introduce manually 10 to obtain a 10 sided polygon. I draw the polygon with 60 mm radius. After that I draw a perpendicular line which length must be equal with the radius of the polygon. Let's group all these elements.

Create the Decaeder

Now must to connect every second angle of the polygon with each other and then with the top of the perpendicular line. In this way we have a five sided shape above the 10 sided polygon. I proceed similarly on the upper side to have also a five sided polygon, but this time i will use the other 5 corners of the angles. Now we have some useless line, these was the original contour of the 10 sided polygon, now i will delete them all. You can see, we have basically two identical shapes, probably it will be possible to obtain these by other method also.

we must make a few more steps to finish. I think I will must to prolong all these sides because they must to intersect each other. Also I delete some line that are not useful for me. The top is ready, now I will proceed the same way below. Deleting the central lines, because we need just one line, which is the intersection line between all these faces, this is what I have to draw now. When I have this line I have one step left, to delete all other lines outside the main shape. This is our final object, how you can see, this is now a shape of a real 10 sided dice. Let’s put some colour on the faces and we are ready
