I thought of a princess dress with a golden top, pink flare skirt and golden scarf to go with it.

I call it the "Rajkumari Dress".

Rajkumari is the Hindi word for princess

Reusing/recycling a Drawstring Bag to Make a Dress

I found a drawstring bag with a golden band and pink net with golden flower print. I thought I would use this for making the dress. That way I also get to recycle and reuse instead of buying new material.

Preparing

I removed the bottom of the bag to make it an opening for the dress.

Putting It Together

Since the net was so transparent, I stitched a piece of fuchsia colored felt to act as a lining for the dress.

The doll is now ready to step into the dress

Wearing the Dress

Once she's in the dress, I just have to pull the strings of the drawstring bag at the doll's waist.

The dress is ready!

And Done!

Hello Rajkumari!

The dress looks just as I had planned it. Golden top, pink princess skirt with golden flowers.

So proud of my creation :)
