The LandRover Discovery Sport takes around 13.7L of AdBlue.

There is no measuring stick, so if you overfill your AdBlue it will submerge the ultrasonic sensor causing the car to continue to display low AdBlue warning and won’t reset.

Dealer wanted to charge $450 AUD to drain and replace sensor. But this can be done by most people free of charge with a few simple items. Total cost was around $25 to but tube and drain bucket.

Supplies

1 x Pipe to assist with draining the AdBlue
1 x container to drain excess AdBlue into

Locate the AdBlue Tank

The AdBlue Tank is located opposite side of the Fuel nozzle under the car in front of the back tire.

See picture for location (AdBlue Tank = #4 on picture)

Locate Drain Pipe

Once you have located the AdBlue Tank you will see there will be a short pipe with a cap (cap has small white button on it)

Pull the pipe out so you can access the cap. Push the white button in and remove the cap. (At this point due to pressure some AdBlue might squirt out temporarily )

Connect Drain Pipe to AdBlue Tank

Now connect the pipe that you have to the nozzle on the AdBlue Tank drain pipe.

You will now need to siphon the AdBlue out by creating a vacuumed siphon. (Make sure not to get AdBlue into your mouth)

See this link if you don’t know how to siphon - https://www.wikihow.com/Siphon-Water?amp=1

Drain AdBlue Into Container

Once the AdBlue is draining leave it to drain until you have around 13.7L of AdBlue left.

There is no way to measure so your better to drain more than to little.

Tidy and Replace Cap

Once you have Drained enough AdBlue, remove the Drain tube you added and replace the Drain Cap.

Then tuck the drain pipe back.

Now you can drive the car for around 5-10km and if you have drained enough AdBlue then the dashboard message should clear.

If it doesn’t clear, you might need to drain more AdBlue. If you know you have drained almost the AdBlue and your below the 13.7L tank limit and the warning on the dashboard won’t clear, you might have a faulty AdBlue Ultrasonic sensor and might will need to book the car into a dealer.
