I've decided to take a whack at doing some nail art.  I started with a simple take on the french manicure.

Supplies:
  • Base Color (if you would like one, I don't like my nails so I wanted to cover them)
  • 2 Nail polish colors of choice*
  • Nail Brush (I just took an old fine tipped paint brush and trimmed off some of the extra bristles)
  • Top Clear Coat
The colors I used are
  • Base: French Manicure Pink
  • Tip Color: Rimmel Play Fast #810 Chill
  • Inside Color: Essie #376 Blueberry Crumb
*You are going to want two colors you feel look good together.  I decided to go with a dark and light blue.  I have also done black and while and felt that looked good, but when I did a red and lighter red that blended together, I did not like it.  I think it is best if the colors at are at least distinguishable from one another.

Steps:
  1. If you are using one, put on your base color and let it dry completely.
  2. Paint the tip of your nail with the darker color.  You can use the lighter on the outside if you want, but I prefered dark on the outside. Let dry.  (it helps to dab some nail polish on a piece of paper and use that to dip your nail brush in)
  3. Paint the inner color along the outer color. Let dry.
  4. Cover with a clear coat.
Make sure to clean your brush between uses.  I used nail polish remover which seems to be working alright.  I have also read that acetone works best, but I have not tried it yet.  Try to not let the nail polish dry on the brush.

Enjoy your pretty nails!  I would advise doing this with a friend, because it is hard to paint, with accuracy, with your non-dominate hand.
