Double-Decker Cardboard Pantry
Today I will make the Double-Decker Cardboard Pantry in order to store my favorite chocolates: Brookside.
This pantry can store other foods/belongings as well.
Materials
You Will Need:
- Cardboard
- Hot Glue Gun (with sticks duhh)
- Box Cutter
- Duct Tape
- Ruler
- Decoration Paint (optional)
- Sand Paper (optional)
- Scotch Tape (optional)
Measuring
My pantry will be made to store my favorite candy, Brookside chocolates so I got the proper measurements as shown in order to properly fit all eight packages.
Preparing Cardboard P. 1
Measure out 7: 6 in. by 7 1/2 in. squares of cardboard and cut.
These will be used as the sides, bases, and roof of the pantry.
Preparing Cardboard P. 2
Cut out 4: 7 1/2 in. by 8 in. of cardboard and cut.
These will be used as the back-board and doors of the pantry.
Forming the Boxes
Create 2 boxes shown above. The base of the box (cardboard touching the floor) will be one of our larger pieces (the 7 1/2 in. by 8 in. size) while the sides are our normal sizes (6 in. by 7 1/2 in.)
Forming the Pantry
Hot glue the two boxes you have created vertically as shown.
Adding on Doors
With your last 2 cardboard cutouts (they should be the larger size: 7 1/2 in. by 8 in.) tape (using 3 pieces of Duct Tape) onto the missing gaps on the pantry (I chose to make mine to where they will open on opposite sides though this is optional)
You can keep the doors shut by using one small piece of scotch tape per door though this is optional.
Making It Look Pretty
You can now sand (optional) and paint (optional) your pantry to make it look nice.
