Donuts Kebabs/ Skewers are surely an amazing way to present to your guests and a kid's favourite. Mini donuts with lovely frosting and sprinkles. What else would make the party more fun!!

I have used a smaller donuts size than a regular sized cutters to fit in the skewers.

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 to 3/4 cups milk

Activate Yeast

Put yeast , sugar and lukewarm water in a cup and let it sit for 10 minutes to activate the yeast.

Make sure that the water is just warm and not too hot. Else it will kill the yeast.

Make the Dough

In a big bowl put sieved flour, salt and activated yeast mixture and now gradually add milk.

Check the dough consistency and then add the entire milk. The dough should be on a wetter side. Place the dough on a silicon mat or clean kitchen counter for the kneading.

Knead the Dough

You can use your hand / stand mixer to make the dough. I have shown here both ways.

Now use your hands and knead the dough for about 8 to 10 minutes. You should stretch the dough with your palms and bring the dough rolled back together. Add in melted butter in parts while kneading.

The dough has to be smooth, soft and light. Be patient with the process and it will definitely come together. If you feel its dry add in some milk. If its too wet add in some flour.

First Proofing

Keep the dough in a greased vessel and cover with a wet napkin for 1 to 1.5 hours. This depends on the quality of the yeast.

After first rise the dough should double up. Punch out the gas.

Cut Out Mini Donuts

Now is the fun part. With a rolling pin roll out the donut dough. With the help of a donut cutter/ (cookie cutter + any nozzle) cut out some cute little donut shapes.

Leave it for the second rise for 30 minutes. Let it increase in size.

Baked/ Fried Donuts

You can either bake the donuts at 180 degree in Oven for 25-30 minutes. Baking time depends on the Oven too.

I prefer the donuts fried.

For frying, take some vegetable oil and heat it to medium flame. Once the oil is hot enough fry in your donuts till golden brown on both sides. Take it aside and place it on tissue to remove excess oil.

Let it cool down for 10 minutes as you want the glaze to set on the donuts.

Melted Chocolate

Melt your chocolate using double boiler method or microwave method.

I have used the microwave method. Chop the chocolate into small equal sizes. Then microwave it at 15 seconds interval mixing in between. Once melted keep it aside for 5 minutes so that it becomes a little cool.

Colour Your Chocolate

Oil candy colours are good for colouring white chocolate. I have used blue and pink. You can reduce the number of drops to keep it lighter. Mix it well.

Dip Dip DIp

Who doesn't love this fun part!! Take your mini donuts and dip in your chocolate. Place it on a wire rack or parchment paper to catch the excess drips. Sprinkle with your favourite sprinkles. This part the kids are just going to love it.

Skewers
