Clean Your Shoes the Proper Way
The before and after of the prescribed cleaning method. Cleaning shoes is an awesome way to save money but also if done incorrectly it can cost you!
Supplies
Highly recommended that you get yourself some quality brushes, the bare minimum of stiff, and a soft brush. A toothbrush is enough if in a hurry. Any normal store-bought dish soap will work. Plastic container to hold the solution. Finally, a rag or piece of clothing to wipe the soap off the shoe.

Begin by finding a sturdy surface and placing a towel or anything that will prevent water from spreading.
Remove the shoelace and any other attachments that might come with the shoe.
Get your plastic container and pour enough soap to cover the surface as depicted.
Fill the container with roughly 1 cup of water or enough to dilute the solution.
Dip the soft brush into the solution and begin brushing in a circular motion the top portion of the shoe, usually, the material is delicate and requires less force to clean. Too much force will damage the shoe.
For the bottom portion of the shoe which is usually a harder material, use more force or a stiffer brush to properly clean the shoe, and wipe the excess soap with a rag or cloth.
Repeat steps 5 and 6, the more work put into cleaning them, the better the results.
Let the shoe dry off and drop the shoelace into the solution.
After letting the shoelace sit in the solution for a minimum of 30 minutes, rinse the shoelace with water and dry them with a rag.
Finally put the shoelace back after feeling satisfied with the results.
