Don't Throw That Away, Salvage Some Old Parts

I was on the verge of throwing away an old, broken, wireless home alarm system when I thought, "why not open this up."
So I did. And it killed a couple of hours, I learned something new, and shoot I'll even venture to say I had fun. So next time you're about to throw away some old junk, try this out instead. here's what I found.
A chip that read APLUS APR9301V2.
And a couple of other ones. But this was the important one. After 5 seconds of googling I found out this chip could record and play-back audio. Which was awesome. And the data sheet even included an example circuit. So what the hell it was a Saturday morning and to me this sounded like a good time. I went to radio shack, bought the value resistors and capacitors I needed and I threw together the examples circuit (included in the data sheet). 20 bucks and 45 minutes later and I don't regret a thing. check it out.
